Many of Utah’s oldest restaurants have closed in the last few years, but there’s one in Logan that’s still going strong. The Bluebird Restaurant opened in 1923, and you can still sit up at the original soda fountain to enjoy a treat. Check it out:
When the Bluebird opened its doors in 1923, the building was brand new. It was an exciting time for Logan, which was a vibrant little community with a bustling Main Street. New shops and restaurants were certainly adding to its charm in the 1920s.

The beautiful soda fountain, with its tiled front and swivel seats, was a focal point, and it was THE place in town to get an ice cream soda, malt, or sundae.

The Bluebird weathered the Great Depression, and has remained largely the same throughout the decades. In 1994 the Xu family purchased it, but they kept all of its historic charm.

The ice cream and chocolates are wonderful, but you might want to enjoy a meal before you dig into dessert. The menu is full of hearty classics like chicken, fish, and steak, all served with real mashed potatoes and vegetables.

Stop in at The Bluebird Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.. On Friday and Saturday, the restaurant is open til 10 p.m.. It’s closed on Sunday.
