Located at the Buffalo State College campus over on Elmwood Avenue, the Burchfield Penney Art Center makes for a wonderful afternoon indoors.

Buffalonians can find all sorts of art galleries nearby, but the Burchfield Penney offers a wonderful setting that showcases art from all around Western New York.

Most importantly, the art center is most known for the fact that it’s home to the largest collection of work by Charles E. Burchfield, an American watercolorist.

Since 1966, the center has been displaying all sorts of works of art, with everything from watercolor paintings and sculptures to photographs and craft media.

On the second friday of every month, the Burchfield Penney hosts all sorts of exciting happenings like concerts, happy hours, screenings, and more.
