A timeless way to jump back into the good old days, a visit to anyone of New York’s long-standing general stores will make you feel nostalgic. As much as we love diving into the past at places like the St. James General Store, a spot that’s considered to be the oldest continually operating general store in our state, but every now and then we like to travel off the beaten path to experience something a little bit different.

Roughly 30-miles northeast of Albany where you’re out by the Vermont border, the town of Hoosick is home to a quirky roadside country store.

The Big Moose Deli and Country Store is one of our favorite stops to make as we’re traveling out along Route 7, an easily recognizable stop that’s decorated in all sorts of statues and figurines.

For those who find themselves traveling out this way, you’ll find many people pulled over to enjoy Big Moose Deli’s famous pulled pork sandwiches and homemade pastries, pies, and chocolates.

Aside from being an amazing deli that’s up and running seven days a week, Big Moose Deli is also a Country Store as well!
