When the leaves start to change colors, Vermont’s natural beauty tends to find a way to get even more beautiful. For the perfect scenic hike in fall that includes a waterfall, head over to Lye Brook Wilderness area in Manchester, Vermont.
Getting to Lye Brook Wildnerness area is almost as scenic as the hike itself.

You’ll take Route 7 to East Manchester Road for about 1 miles and then turn left onto Glen Road, just before an overpass. Follow Glen Road and veer right at the fork onto the Lye Brook Access Road. You’ll be able to park in the parking lot and begin your hike at the trailhead east of the parking lot.
Lye Brook Wilderness makes up for about 15,680 acres within the Green Mountain National Forest.

The hike is 4.6 miles, round trip.

The wilderness area is comprised of a variety of types of trees including birch, beech, maple, and a few spruce trees.
