It’s no secret that we enjoy our bars here in Nebraska. Everyone’s got their favorite standby watering hole, whether it’s just down the street or a special-occasion-only destination. There’s one little bar in Lincoln that’s got a loyal following despite being a bit of a secret.
Barrymore’s is located in an alley between O and P Streets in Lincoln. It’s right next door to the Rococo Theatre, and in fact used to be the backstage area of the Rococo.

You can see theatre influences everywhere you look, from the high ceilings to the art on the walls. But the curtain pulleys and light board from the former theatre space are really the highlights of this unique destination.

The drinks range from simple and sophisticated to swanky. Their signature drink is their Moscow Mule, which is honestly one of the best in the city. The Old Fashioned is another unbeatable cocktail that the bartenders at Barrymore’s excel at preparing.

Although it’s no longer functional, you can play with the levers and switches on the old light board as you picture what it must have been like for the actors and stagehands who put on shows here in the past.
