The Farmers’ Almanac recently released their 2020 extended winter forecast and it sounds like we’re in for a wild ride. For those of us in Oklahoma, what does that specifically mean? Keep scrolling and I’ll tell you what you should expect this upcoming winter in the Sooner State.
Oklahoma’s upcoming winter is going to see it all. A “polar coaster” winter is headed our way, so be prepared for a variety of weather.

Chief Meteorologist Mike Collier says, “It’s going to rain. It’s going to be cold. It’s going to be sunny. It’s going to be windy. And, we might see some snow.”

So, basically be prepared for another bipolar Oklahoma winter that brings us all four seasons in one week.

You’ll have days where you can get out and enjoy nature with nice temps and sunny skies.

But then you’ll see days where it’s raining cats and dogs. Or even worse, ice could blanket us for days.

Overall, winter is expected to be colder than normal and go longer into Spring. The good news is, you don’t have to pull out those winter coats just yet. Fall is just around the corner, so enjoy the beautiful weather and colors of autumn before winter rears its unpredictable head.
