We’re a pretty sane bunch here in SoCal, but there a few things that we do here that people from other states most likely find a little weird. Take a look and see if any of these things sound familiar. I’m totally guilty of number 12. How about you?
- Planning our day around rush hour traffic.
flickr/prayitno
- Putting avocados on EVERYTHING.
flickr/katherine lim From avocado on our toast to avocado on our eggs and even avocado in our pudding – we just can’t get enough of this delicious food!
- Buying annual passes to Disneyland…
flickr/chris jepsen Or at least making friends with people who do!
- Riding a bike at the beach in our nice clothes.
flickr/nathan rupert It’s amazing how a little jewelry can dress up a bike ride.
- Telling people how long it will take to get somewhere in time and not miles.
flickr/tomi Knuutiila
- Heading to the beach on Christmas day…
flickr/insaphowetrust All decked out in our holiday gear…and sunscreen.
- Bundling up in a coat, hat, and maybe even a scarf when the temps drop below 70.
flickr/daniel hoherd We know, we know…we’ve been spoiled by nice weather.
- Owning a pair of flip flops to match every outfit.
flickr/joe strupek
- Leaving the sunny parts of SoCal and traveling to other places just to find snow.
flickr/mitch barrie
- Choosing to stay home when it rains.
flickr/karol franks Because let’s be honest…none of us in SoCal like driving in the rain.
- Leaving an hour before we need to be somewhere…even if that place is only 15 minutes away.
flickr/florian Because you never know what conditions you’ll encounter on the road.
- Getting up before sunrise to meet friends for an epic morning hike.
flickr/mitchel I wouldn’t exactly call that insane. I like to think of it as a perfect SoCal day.
Do any of these sound familiar to you? There are also lots of other activities that you’ll never catch anyone in Southern California doing — such as these 10 things.
